What is AIIMS ?

All India Institute of Medical Science, New Delhi is the most prestigious Medical college in the country. Apart from Delhi, now 6 AIIMS has been started at Bhopal, Patna, Jodhpur, Rishikesh, Raipur & Bhubaneshwar also. Admission in to 700 seats of these institution is done through a separate entrance exam.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate should have age between 17 to 25 years (30 years for SC/ST).The number of attempts allowed is three. The aspirants must have passed/appeared in 12th Board or its equivalent with not less than 60% marks (50% marks for SC-PH/STPH/OBC-PH) in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.

Examination Pattern

The Entrance Examination will be of 3½ hours duration and will have one paper consisting of 200 objective type (multiple choice and reason-assertion type) questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge. The distribution of questions is as follows : Physics – 60, Chemistry – 60, Biology (Botany & Zoology) – 60 & general knowledge – 20.

What is AIPMT ?

CBSE conducts All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) for admission to MBBS & BDS courses. Presently, India has nearly 355 medical colleges, offering a total of over 43,000 MBBS seat. There are 300 Dental Colleges offering 25,000 seats for BDS. 15% Admissions in all colleges, except for AIIMS, will be done through AIPMT.

Nearly same as AIIMS.

Examination Pattern

There will be Single paper consisting total number of 180 questions comprising of Physics (45 Questions) , Chemistry (45 Questions), Botany (45 Questions) & Zoology (45 Questions). The paper will be of objective type of 3 hrs. duration. The paper will be in English & Hindi medium.
